Today the Apple iPad launched, and I stood in line to pick one up. Here are my 1st impressions of the device, specifically for gaming. I’ll do a more in-depth review in the coming weeks. Check it out!

that does not appeal to me. It’s just too big and expensive for me. but the games look OK. I think I’ll stick with my Classic.

the ipad games look amazing! Hopefully when they come out with the second gen ipad they can drop the price to 350-450 dollars. I would like to get one of them.

@Gokua12 – $499 for the 16gig storage / Wifi only version. Add $130 if you need 3G+Wifi. Since I have Wifi at home and work, that’s all I needed.
How much do these things cost?

Great Review, dude!!! Do you think this could be a replacement for a netbook or a laptop? or are they just two totally different devices? Gaming looks pretty good on there even though im not to into play the games on a touch screen, it still looks awesome!
@MetalJesusRocks Thats pretty amazing in such a small unit, yeah the original xbox had a 733mhz processor from what i can remember so essentially you could get halo combat evolved on the pad? now that would be really cool
@Snestastic – I’ve heard several developers compare the power of the iPod Touch to the Dreamcast… however, the iPad is supposedly TWICE the power of that (1gig custom Apple processor). If you think about it, that is more powerful than the original Xbox by a lot. I expect we will see pretty impressive games very soon.
Cool vid dude, that nova game looks impressive, im amazed by how good the graphics are on the ipad and the touch, i saw streetfighter 4 on a couple of channels recently on the touch and that really shocked me with its quality. Do you like streetfighter? have you got it for the pad? would be great to see how it translates onto the pad
