Earlier today we introduced you to two new point-and-shoot cameras from Pentax, these were the Optio RS1000 and the Optio RZ10, we now have another Pentax camera for you to see, this time it is a DSLR called the K-r.

The K-r is a great choice of camera for any of you want a bit more than a standard DSLR, it features a 12.4 megapixel sensor and there is a choice of different lenses available.

Spec wise it features a 3 inch 920k dot LCD display, an ISO range of 100 – 1/6000, 720p video capture (at 25 fps), a maximum shutter speed of 1/6000 and shake reduction.

The K-r is available in either black, red or white, it will set you back $799.95 (body only), however there are plenty of different pricing options available if you want to choose different lenses.

Are you a fan of Google Instant search? If so, you are probably wondering if this is available on mobile, well Google has answered this question in their Google Instant search Q&A.

There is some good news and some bad news, let’s start with the bad, at the moment Instant search is not available on mobile, however the good news if that it will be launched pretty soon.

No definitive launch date has been given, however Google usually roll out their technologies further afield once they are happy with them, perhaps Android devices will get this functionality within the next month or so.

To be honest I think Instant Search is more suited to mobile devices, as lets face it typing on a mobile device is not as quick as a computer, therefore the lower the keystrokes required the better.

If you have experienced video codec problems with your iPad we have some good news for you, it looks as if VLC could soon be coming to iPad and iPhone.

From what we can see the iPad version will launch first, this was developed by Applidium and has been submitted to the App Store, which means it should arrive pretty soon if Apple choose to approve it, once approved an iPhone/iPod version should follow.

It is thought that it will arrive in two weeks or so, it should allow you to play pretty much all video formats. For those of you who don’t know, VLC is an open source media player which is famous for pretty much playing every video format known to man, you can download VLC for your PC here.

If you are looking forward to the release dates of some Windows Phone 7 smartphones we have some good news for you, it looks as if the official Windows Phone 7 launch date will be October 11th.

Microsoft has not yet confirmed this, therefore we must treat this as a rumor, however Pocket-Lint claim that multiple sources have suggested this will be the release date.

You can see Pocket-Lint’s recent article here, as usual they do not say too much about the sources, however they are apparently familiar with the matter.

To be honest I think that this launch date looks pretty likely, apparently a stable version of Windows Phone 7 was released to manufacturers recently, therefore I am sure smartphone manufacturers aren’t far away from finalizing some of their Windows Phone 7 devices.

Pentax has recently unveiled two new digital cameras, these are the Optio RS1000 and Optio RZ10, both of which are point-and-shoot cameras.

The Pentax Optio RS1000 features a 14 megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom, 3-inch display and 720p HD video capture. It is pretty unique as it features fifteen different picture modes and customizable skins, it also features face detection, AF tracking and digital shake reduction.

The Pentax Optio RZ10 also features a 14 megapixel sensor, however it offers a 10x optical zoom, a 2.7-inch LCD display and 720p HD video capture. This camera is capable of shooting 1cm macro pictures and features face-detection, optical image stabilization, a dedicated pet mode and burst shooting at 9.1 fps.

Both cameras will begin shipping sometime in October, the RS1000 will set you back $149.95, whereas the RZ1O will be priced at $219.95.

Saab are getting ready for the Paris Motor Show by introducing a revised 9-3 for 2011, before a complete makeover is completed for 2012.

Although the exterior stays roughly the same barring a few minor tweaks to the bumpers. Saab has also decided to give a nod to its past styling with the re-introduction of three-spoke alloy wheels in 16 and 18-inch versions. Main changes however come from under the bonnet. As with all manufacturers the main aim is to reduce emissions and lower fuel consumption and Saab is no different.

While the petrol variants get a seven percent reduction the 1.9 TTiD diesel lowers its emissions from 149 g/km to 119, it also drops its fuel consumption figures from 5.6 1/100 km down to 4.5. Even with these savings the performance hasn’t suffered with the horsepower available from 130bhp to 160bhp with a top of the range pushing out 180bhp. There will also be a new automatic transmission available.

With the 2010 Paris Motor Show looming, some manufacturers are teasing us with pictures of what we can look forward to at the show.

To give us more to get excited about Mercedes has just released official pictures of its latest S63 and S65 AMG models which are set to be in Paris.

For the S63, that should be available towards the end of September, AMG has completely reworked the internals and given the latest version a 5.5-litre V8, outing the previous 6.2-litre V8. Although a smaller capacity the new (M157) engine uses twin turbo’s to push the power from 525bhp to 545bhp. Coupled to this the S63 offers a third gen direct injection with multi-spark ignition allowing the new engine improvements in fuel economy over the previous model.

As with most autobahn munchers the top speed is limited electronically to 155mph and a 0-62 time of 4.5 seconds, but with the AMG Performance kit 62mph comes up in 4.4 seconds and the big saloon can crack on to 186mph. Both S63 and S65 will feature Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist, just to keep you on the straight and narrow.

We have some good news for those of you considering the T-Mobile G2, as the company has released a press release, confirming a list of specs for the device, while also giving some details on how to pre-order the handset.

As reported from Engadget, the T-Mobile G2 will be the official successor to the now-ancient G1, and will also be the first handset to support T-Mobile’s new HSPA+ speeds.

Confirmed specs include a 3.7-inch display screen, a Qualcomm MSM7230 Snapdragon processor, a 800MHz CPU, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 4GB internal memory (SD card support), 720p Video Recording and much more.

You’ll also be pleased to know that the web browser on the G2 will come with full support for Adobe Flash, so playing YouTube videos shouldn’t be a problem.

Earlier on, we asked you for your thoughts on Google’s new Instant Search feature which went live on their homepage recently, but now we would like to ask you if the new service actually saved time compared to the standard method.

Over on Google’s website, the company has claimed that the new Instant Search feature will save around 2-5 seconds per search, since it will now predict and display results as you type it into the search bar.

We’ve ran a few tests on their homepage, and as long as you know what you are looking for, it does seem generally quicker than the old method of hitting that search button.

However, not all of you feel the same. Over on Twitter, I’ve noticed that some of you think that the feature is annoying, and adds unnecessary confusion whilst searching. Another user comment I’ve read stated that they were actually distracted with the new search options – which is interesting.

Personally, I’m happy with Google’s new features. It is a few seconds quicker for me as Google said, and it is more useful seeing results pop up without having to scan through various pages each time.

This video, which shows the future of touchscreen technology, shows us “a normal day in 2014″. In all honesty, I am not certain that we will be this advanced by then.

I mean, just watch this video after the jump. In four years, I’m pretty certain that we’ll be able to shut off the alarm clocks on our mobile phones by waving, but I’m not certain whether they will have stretchable touchscreens.

I’m also not certain about the the desktops. They are transparent screens that are at least 27 inches from diagonal to diagonal. Will we be able to turn an image around backwards so someone on the other side of the screen can see it?

Then there is the whole sharing from screen to screen. Sure, we can do wireless transfers of files from one mobile to the other, but not like what you see here.

So, is this view of the future too optimistic? I’ll let you decide that. Better yet, Bookmark this article now and promise to read it in 2014, and we’ll see how right these TAT people are.

You may remember a few days ago, when we informed you that Apple may be dropping iOS 4.1 on Wednesday September 8th, after they let slip a few details on their UK store. Well there is another twist for you to know about now.

It turns out that Apple has now removed the September 8th date from their UK store, with no reason behind it at all. Is it an error on Apple UK’s part, or is the update still coming out? A lot of websites are reporting that iOS 4.1 will be out tomorrow, but we still haven’t heard any word from Apple regarding the update.

Hopefully we do hear from them in a few hours time, as no doubt the internet will be going mad as users look for the exact moment when notifications will be going live on the iPhone 4.

We have some good news for those of you still with an iPhone 3G or 3GS, as it has been reported that one of the new features of the upcoming iPhone iOS 4.1 will be available on the jailbroken 3GS and 3G.

As reported from RedmondPie, you’ll be pleased to know that the feature is HDR photos, the cool-looking High Dynamic Range camera addition which will only be available on the new iPhone iOS 4.1 update – expected to go live shortly.

If you didn’t know, HDR photos will take three photos, one which is taken with normal exposure, one with higher exposure and a third photo which merges the two together for a better finish.

RedmondPie reports that this feature will be coming to Cydia soon, but didn’t give an exact time when. Are you looking forward to using this feature on your jailbroken 3G/3GS?

A few weeks ago we posted what we beleived was the first-ever public screenshot of Microsoft Internet Explorer 9, now we have a brief video showing the browser’s score when running the Acid3 benchmark.

For those of you who don’t know Acid3 is benchmarking website which test’s a web browser’s performance, especially in regards to the Document Object Model (DOM) and JavaScript.

The latest builds of web browsers such as Google Chrome and Apple Safari score 100/100 in the Acid3 test, whereas the latest build of Mozilla scores 97, therefore any score near this is pretty decent.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 scored just 20/100 in the test, however the video embedded belows shows latest Internet Explorer 9 scores 95 out of 100, this shows that Microsoft have really revamped things.

Back in March this year IE9 scored 55/100, in May it scored 68 and in June it scored 83/100, now that it has reached 95/100 it shows that Microsoft has been working hard to make Internet Explorer 9 the browser that IE8 should have been.

It was only a few days ago that we reported on Nissan’s facelifted 2012 GT-R, but while this is still interesting news for all us performance hungry individuals, it may interest you to know that Nissan will be releasing a luxury version of its new autobahn stormer.

Named the Egoist the higher spec model will carry a redesigned front fascia, new specially designed Recaro interior and huge front brakes hidden by 10 spoke alloy wheels. To go with the luxury theme a price tag of $166,740 is expected. According to a report from Autocar it is not yet know if the U.S will see the Egoist or if it will be for the Europe market only.

Whatever happens the new model will be debuted later on this year next to the ( dare I say it ) standard facelifted GT-R. As with the previous GT-R that superseded its Skyline brother, we will see a loss in weight, along with a new oil cooler and exhaust system coupled to larger turbo chargers, pushing the power up to a estimated 506 bhp.

So watch this space for more news on Nissan’s latest gen GT-R, and also the 2013 GT-R Hybrid that we spoke about at the end of last year.

If you have not yet heard about Theatre mode it sounds pretty cool, you can playback your previous matches and put them in your fileshare, once in your fileshare friends will be able to watch your match and rate them.

The video has been embedded below long with a screenshot, this should help gamers perfect their strategies and find where enemies were camping. Also it will be great for reminiscing funny moment from a game, perhaps it could be used to report cheats/glitchers.

It has been announced by Chief Executive Officer Eric Schmidt, that the Google TV service will hit TV screens in the US this fall and worldwide next year. The company has an agreement with Sony for the US launch of Web TV, while Samsung have said it might make TV’s that are run by Google’s software to compete with Apple and Sony.

Douglas MacMillion and Ragnhild Kjetland of Bloomberg are reporting that Schmidt wouldn’t say what other manufacturers will have Google Web TV in their sets. He went on to say “We will wait for them to make their announcements,” “You should expect that other TV manufacturers would love to have this product. It’s free.”

This new service comes as Google seeks to explore other avenues besides its search engine with the Android operating system, and Google TV. The company’s revenue will come less dependent on search advertising, which at the moment makes up most of its revenue.

Google TV software will work with chips made by Intel Corp. in TV’s made by Sony and Logitech International SA. Video on demand products will be available from Amazon.com Inc, Netfix Inc, and Hulu which is part owned by Walt Disney Co.

Since Duke Nukem Forever was surprisingly revealed at PAX 2010 there has been a huge buzz surrounding the franchise’s revival.

Today we have come across 14 screenshots from 2011 release, we have embedded a couple below, however you can see them all here.

The screenshots do not really reveal anything we didn’t already know, however they do at least show that the graphics are up to standard. This should mean that the final product should look great.

One of the screens (embedded below) shows a very formidable opponent called Cycloid, another of the screens show that you will be able to drink beer and throw pipebombs and tripmines. You can see the Xbox 360 controller config here.

Earlier today we revealed the official Verizon Wirless Samsung Fascinate release date and price, now we have found out full details regarding the official accessories for this smartphone.

Let’s start with the spare battery charging system, this consists of a 1500 mAH battery, battery charger and Y-cable, this cable allows you to charge your Fascinate and spare battery simultaneously. This accessorie will be available from Verizon for $39.99.

The charging cradle is pretty self-explanatory and will cost $29.99, here is an extract from the press release, Charging Cradle – Doubles as a phone charger and includes a micro USB wall adapter so customers can view movies, display digital photos, and listen to music. Last week Treyarch finally revealed what we can expect from Call of Duty: Black Ops, soon after the multiplayer reveal we spoke about the perks and equipment etc, now we have come across a video preview showing off the new create a class system.

We have embedded a video at the end of this post, here you see just how much customization is available, also you get to see how you can create a playercard and choose contracts.

The playercard looks to be Black Ops’ version of titles and emblems, here you can create a playercard consisting of many different layers.

To be honest the video isn’t the clearest, therefore there is still some mystery surrounding create a class, but I think this is a good thing as you don’t want to know everything before the game’s release.

Dolphins are one of those animals that seems to be loved by mostly females, I don’t know of a lot of guys that have dolphin figurines lying around.  However, it does come in blue if you are a male that enjoys dolphins or a female that doesn’t really want the pink version of these.  They come from Brightonnet and the shipping alone may require that you sacrifice a decent chunk of your paycheck.

When I found that Logitech had sent me this product, I immediately decided to connect it to my television to see how well it works. It was good to have a THX certified system with 200 watts of power.

The entire setup comes with the 130 Watts Subwoofer, which has a 7-inch pressure driver. The two satellite speakers are each 25 Watts with 2.5 inch dome drivers and aluminum phase plugs.

Okay, that was the spec information, and, honestly, I don’t really know much about it. I’m not really a stereotypical stereo-type. I do know that once I had hooked it up to my television, I got some serious sound that was brash and loud, and it worked for my DVD and gaming system.

The right speaker had a certain 3.5mm jack located just below the headphones. You can plug your iPod into it and immediately have the 200 Watt power. I did it with my laptop had had the same effect. It is good for Hulu videos.

All in all, I am pretty pleased. I believe that the Logitech Speaker System Z623 is already shipping, at a MSRP of $149.99.

If you are looking for an alternative to Apple’s iPad you may want to check out the Toshiba Folio 100, this tablet recently showed up at IFA 2010 and in my opinion it is pretty impressive.

The Folio 100 features a 10.1 inch display which supports a resolution of 1024 x 600, an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, an SD memory card slot, 802.11 b/g/n wireless, USB port (which can charge devices), HDMI-out, Bluetooth 2.1, a SIM card slot for 3G network access, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a miniUSB port and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera.

It runs a customized version of Android 2.2 as standard, however there is one major problem, there is no access to the Android Market, Toshiba say it is due to the screen size and resolution, this has to be a big con for any prospective buyer.

You can see a hands-on review of the Folio 100 embedded below, the build quality looks great in my opinion, however software wise it is evident that it is not yet ready for release, I’m sure that software updates will make using this tablet a very enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

It turns out that internet search giants Google are just the same as everyone else, as the company has admitted that they have a bed bug problem in one of their offices in New York.

As reported from Gather, the infestation of bugs were discovered by a Google employee, who decided to share her thoughts on the matter on social networking website Twitter. This is the message she posted, before it was swiftly removed:

“Jeepers i am not immune from the bedbug epidemic. bedbugs have been found at work.”

As a result of this becoming public knowledge, Google has calmed the situation by delivering a message of their own:

“Like several other businesses in New York City, we’ve discovered bedbugs in a small area of our office. We have notified employees and are taking steps to treat the affected area.”

It is fair to say that bedbugs are a common problem anywhere you go, but it is still a surprise to see that a company as big as Google are having problems with them, and that they were discovered inside one of their office buildings.

Angry Birds has already proved itself as a great game for iPhone and iPod Touch, therefore it is unsurprising to see a beta version recently arrive at the Android Market, but is it as good?

The good news is that the beta version for Android has a higher resolution than the iOS version, the iOS version runs at a relatively low resolution of 480 x 320, which does not look great on the iPhone 4’s impressive display, Angry Birds for Android has a native resolution of 800 x 480, which helps makes the graphics looks superior.

As it is in its beta stages the game is not perfect, apparently there are some light issues when you pan across the screen, no doubt this will be rectified before the game’s proper release.

Despite it being in its beta stages there seem to be a lot of happy gamers out there. It is said to look great on the Dell Streak’s 5-inch display, whilst we are hearing that it runs great on the Galaxy S, Droid and Droid Incredible, however EVO 4G owners are experiencing some difficulties.

With the beta version being received so well I doubt that the proper release is too far away, as we hear of an official release we will keep you posted.

2010 has been a quiet year in terms of LG smartphones, however recently at IFA 2010 two new Android-powered Google smartphones were revealed, these devices should do well in the low-end market.

These two handsets are the LG Optimus One and the LG Optimus Chic, these devices will probably go head to head with Nokia’s S60 handsets, and I must say these Android devices look far more appealing.

Full specs have not yet been released, therefore we will have to keep you posted. To be honest though a touch screen device running Android with access to the Android Market sounds a lot more appealing than any S60-based smartphone we have ever seen.
